About Me
My name is Cindy Hillsey, and I am a Coach to Virtual Assistants. I am passionate about working with Virtual Assistants who are either in the start-up stage or have been in business a few years. I love to be a mentor/coach (I’ve been there and “get” what you are going through), brainstorm those terrific business ideas, and provide a safe place to strategize and keep you accountable as you move forward toward your goals.
Some background on me and how I came to be where I am today:
I am so glad you are here! Working with Virtual Assistants (VAs) is a real passion of mine for many reasons. Mainly, I was a VA for 5 years, and I understand what is involved in running a successful VA business. I also understand the frustration in getting your business up and running, trying to find your ideal client, setting standards and boundaries around your business and personal life (work-life balance), and how to market to your ideal client. Right about now you might be asking yourself, “Why did she give up her VA business if she was so successful?” That’s a good question, and I’ll tell you why. 
When I was a VA, I would routinely receive emails and phone calls from other VAs asking me for my thoughts, advice, suggestions — using me as a sounding board for their various ideas. I loved doing this. I also found that I was doing the same type of things for my VA clients. I wasn’t really acting as a VA for them. I would have to go find a VA to implement the ideas/suggestions we’d come up with (not good when you are supposed to be the VA who does those things! LOL). I then became a trainer at AssistU (this is where I received my VA training). I found I really enjoyed helping new VAs get the training they needed to start their new business and life. I also hosted the monthly Newbie Special Interest Group call, and during my time as host we grew from 5 people a month to 25 people a month attending and participating in the calls. I was also Host for the AssistU Michigan Chapter. It was during this time that I came to realize coaching was the perfect avenue for me.
Once I realized that coaching was where I wanted to be, I enrolled in a coaching program at the International Coach Academy (ICA) and will graduate as a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) in June of 2010. I also love to learn new things, and I am constantly taking classes around anything that has to do with working virtually. I’ve completed an Internet Marketing course, a Social Media Marketing course, a Blog Marketing course, and a Facebook Fan Page course through VAClassroom. I also completed a 16-week course on how an Online Business Manager (OBM) works with clients. Recently, I completed a course in how to use video in your business with Lou Bortone. All of these trainings assist me in being a better coach for you. *smile*
In addition to the traditional coaching packages I offer, I have also set up a way for you to receive “on-demand” coaching. I call it ChatsOnDemand.com (COD for short). This is in recognition of the fact that not every coaching situation requires a long-term commitment. Sometimes all you need is a quick 30-minute laser coaching session around a particular situation or topic. The really cool thing about COD is that the pricing is flexible! You get to pick your price. 
Again, because working with VAs is my passion, I’ve collaborated with Carlotta Moon at CVMAS, and together we’ve created Artemis Systems. Artemis Systems is geared toward the VA who wants to work with Financial Professionals. We’ve also created an ebook for those who are interested in beginning to work with this niche market. In addition to 25+ years of experience working in, and with, entrepreneurs (both online and offline), I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Davenport University. I live in West Michigan with my husband and five cats (yes, I am a cat person!).
